Until 9 October, fire brigades can visit http://www.magirusgroup.com/award and enter the competition for the title "Fire Fighter Team of the year 2016" in the "national" or "international" categories and win an exclusive team trip to the New York City Fire Department.

All fire departments can enter the competition with a unique mission where they demonstrated notable skill, professionalism and bravery, no matter whether they are volunteer, professional or plant based. “We are looking forward to seeing missions that illustrate the entire range of daily fire department work,” said Marc Diening, CEO of Magirus. "Standard firefighting missions, those demonstrating the use of new technologies and equipment, or showing exemplary teamwork or impressive rescue operations are all welcome.”

In order to be eligible for the 2016 title, the mission must have taken place after 1 October 2015. Teams must submit a short mission report accompanied by photos. As Magirus headquarters are based in Ulm, Germany, there will be a special national award for one special German brigade. German teams vying for the national award cannot additionally compete for the international title.

German teams which demonstrate outstanding social commitment have also been invited to participate. For the second time in a row, Magirus will award a special prize for social commitment.
