New Holland Agriculture shows once again its ability to anticipate its customers’ needs and provide a full answer with the renewal of its complete line of mid-range tractors:
  • the recently introduced T5 Tier 4B Series, winner of the “Best Utility” Award, takes the name of T5 Electro Command and remains a point of reference at the high end of the range;
  • the new T5 Tier Series carries over the heritage of the excellent T5000 Series with improvements in its compact size, big performance and competitive price;
  • the T4 Powerstar, now renamed T4, continues to deliver the high-level performance and reliability as the farm’s perfect all-rounder.
The wide offering of models, specifications and price ranges has the perfect solution for every requirement.

At the heart of the renewed mid-range offering is the new T5 Series with five models ranging from T5.75 up to T5.115. The wide range of powers and transmission options ensure there is a model to match every requirement. The heavy-duty models increase the Gross Vehicle Weight to 6,500kg. The VisionViewTM cab offers outstanding visibility and ultimate comfort.

Sean Lennon, Head of Tractor and Precision Land Management Product Management, said: “With the new T5 we have completed the process for the renewal and rationalisation of our medium range. The process was focused on providing today’s farmers with an ample choice of solutions to match their specific requirements and meeting the growing demand for versatile, powerful and light all-rounders. The new T5 Series offers a complete package at a very competitive price.”

Choice of transmissions for a tractor tailored to the customer’s needs

The T5 Series is available with a wide choice of transmissions to match the different requirements of customers. The entry-level 12x12 Synchro Shuttle transmission offers traditional robust operation with positive direction changes. The 12x12 Hydraulic Powershuttle delivers ergonomic fingertip direction changes without letting go off the steering wheel. The Split Command transmission is the choice for operators requiring to finetune speed to adjust it for every operation. The new 24x24 Dual Command transmission features a Hi-Lo Splitter full load powershift that delivers outstanding efficiency and a tailored shuttling performance.

Specialist businesses such as vegetable farmers will find the specification they need in the Creeper versions of the 20X20 Synchro Shuttle, 20x20 Hydraulic Powershuttle and 40x40 Dual Command transmissions. Creep speeds as low as 0.25 kph make hand planting easy, while the top transport speed of 40kph makes short work of transporting the harvest to the farm.

The full T5 range is available with either two- or four-wheel drive, and can be specified with New Holland’s legendary SuperSteerTM axle that delivers a maximum turning angle of 76 degrees.

High versatility with front linkage and loader

The T5 is factory ready for New Holland’s 500TL and new 700TL front loaders, which can be combined with a front linkage for ultimate versatility. The new 700TL 1,100 mm wide frame improves the front visibility for precision operation and provides easier serviceability.

The maximum lifting height with the New Holland loaders ranges from 3.5 m of the 520TL to the impressive 3.7 m of the 740TL, while the maximum lift capacities of up to 2,060 kg means that no job is too big.

The factory fitted multifunctional front linkage has a lifting capacity of up to 1670 kg which, combined with the 1000-speed PTO, further adds to the T5 range’s versatility. This will be greatly appreciated, for example, by hay and forage customers who want to work with front-mounted mowers, or for municipalities that will be able to swap easily between a front ballast carrier, front linkage and front PTO.

Productivity and flexibility with the hydraulic system and improved lifting capacity

The hydraulic offering has been designed for mixed farmers. For standard farming applications, the 48 litre/minute with a dedicated 28 litre/minute services pump is perfect. The MegaFlowTM option delivers up to 64 litre/minute to the main pump and 36 litre/minute to the services pump. This provides the power required for the most demanding applications, including front loader work, while maintaining the steering light and responsive at all times.

Customers can tailor the hydraulics package to their needs.  The T5 features two standard rear remote valves and two mid-mount valves, and the number of hydraulic couplings can be increased to eight with an optional diverter.

The impressive rear lift capacity of 4,400 kg with a second assist ram ramps up productivity, while the 3 speed PTO featuring ECO speed and ground speed multiplies the number of implements that can be used and reduces fuel consumption. The result is more productivity, more versatility, and more economy.

High productivity and efficiency with the advanced in-house engine technologies

The new T5 range features a 3.4 litre Common Rail engine developed by FPT Industrial. The powerful, extremely quiet engine develops from 75 to 110 hp and up to 457 Nm of torque, resulting in outstanding productivity.

The engines reach maximum power at just 1,900 rpm and is available up to 2,300 rpm, the most frequently used working range. This results in outstanding productivity in all applications, including PTO work and high speed road transport. The 35% torque back-up results in the T5 tractor’s exceptional transient response that ensures the highest productivity in the most demanding conditions. Engine Speed Management with two speed settings and makes fieldwork easier, adding to the operator’s productivity.

Best-in-class fuel consumption and low operating costs

The Common Rail precision technology delivers excellent responsiveness and best-in-class fuel consumption. With the excellent power-to-weight ratio of just 31.6 kg/hp, the T5 reduces the risk of soil compaction and uses less fuel.

Fuel efficiency is further improved by features such as the 40kph ECO, which has the added advantage of quieter operation on the road. The high fuel efficiency combined with the larger, 160-litre fuel tank means the tractor spends more time working in the field, increasing its productivity.

Added to the savings achieved through low fuel consumption, the long industry leading 600-hour service intervals result in outstanding economy.

Ultimate comfort with the VisionView cab designed around the operator’s needs

The spacious VisionView cab provides outstanding all-round visibility, which has been further improved by the new single wiper blade with 200-degree movement and extra wide-angle mirrors. For loader operation, a roof hatch can be specified to provide unrestricted view on the raised arms.

All the controls in the cab are ergonomically laid out, while many elements are adjustable to create a comfortable work station tailored to the operator. The instrument cluster moves in conjunction with the fully tiltable steering column, ensuring a permanently unobstructed view. The IntelliView IV touch screen monitor puts the operator in control of all the main parametres.

A choice of seats is available, offering varying degrees of comfort all the way up to the deluxe air-suspension version, as well as a full-sized instructor seat. The efficient air conditioning system can deal with the hottest conditions as well as the coldest days. A simple to operate radio is integrated in the cab and an MP3 auxiliary plug is available.
