Release Date: 05 Oct 2018
Agreement to develop LNG for commercial transport in Russia signed by IVECO, Gazprom and Automobile Company - Mostrans
The parties came together at the 8th annual St. Petersburg International Gas Forum to announce their joint effort in developing Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) for the country’s transport sector.

IVECO, a brand of CNH Industrial N.V. (NYSE: CNHI /MI: CNHI), has signed a cooperation agreement with Gazprom LNG Technologies LLC and Automobile Company – Mostrans LLC for a long-term partnership to promote the development of LNG in the country. The parties signed and made the joint announcement during the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum (SPIGF), which takes place alongside Russian Energy Week and provides a platform for dialogue between leaders in the gas industry. This partnership builds upon separate agreements between IVECO with Gazprom and Mostrans respectively at the IAA Commercial Vehicles (IAA) exhibition in Hannover, Germany in late September.

CNH Industrial was represented by Fabrizio Cepollina, General Manager for Russia & Belarus, who signed the agreement together with Alexey Kakhidze, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gazprom LNG Technologies and Natalya Kim, Commercial Director of Mostrans. The signature took place on the Gazprom PAO stand. IVECO Russia, represented by Business Director Massimiliano Perri, was present with an IVECO Stralis NP with an LNG engine exhibited on Gazprom LNG Technologies’ stand at SPIGF for the occasion.

The cooperation agreement between IVECO and Gazprom will see an exchange of experience and knowhow that aims to support the production and use of LNG. This will be carried out on several fronts, which include: the introduction of LNG powered vehicles of various classes; the construction of complexes to liquefy natural gas and their associated technological infrastructure; the introduction and improvement of innovative technologies for the production and use of LNG in vehicles; and the promotion of the environmental and economic benefits of LNG.

Further to this agreement, IVECO and Mostrans have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the supply of 500 Stralis NP (Natural Power) LNG trucks over 10 years. Classed as the most sustainable heavy-duty truck for long-haul operations, the Stralis NP trucks will operate in Mostrans’ fleet, which specializes in container deliveries and the transport of construction materials and fluid food goods in the city of Moscow and the Moscow region, serving customers that include international retailers IKEA, Auchan, Leroy Merlin Metro and P&G.

IVECO was the world’s first commercial vehicles manufacturer to understand and invest in the potential of natural gas in 1991. Today, the brand is the European market leader in natural gas commercial vehicles and the only manufacturer to offer a full range of sustainable solutions covering every mission, from people mobility to long-haul freight.
