Case IH wins the prize “Novedad Técnica” for the very first time thanks to a new feature introduced to the latest generation of Axial-Flow® combines.
The pivoting grain spout on the Case IH Axial-Flow® has been awarded the "Technological Innovation" award from the International Fair of Agricultural Machinery (FIMA), which distin-guishes the best technical innovations in the field of agriculture and rural environment aimed at increasing productivity, improving workplace safety and minimizing environmental impact.
The pivoting spout unloading system on the Axial-Flow® - technology exclusive to Case IH - has been specially designed to optimize the unload operation and make it easier. It is offered with the optional “High capacity” unloading systems on the 230 range combines. By means of a small electric actuator, the operator can easily control the inclination of the spout of the unloading auger from inside the cab, adjusting the stream of grain from the auger into different areas of the trailer, as needed. This system saves unloading time and reduces grain loss, even in unfavourable conditions (wind, small trailers, etc.). In addition, the 'closed' setting of the spout seals the unload auger totally to avoid grain losses.
Unloading operation - faster and easier
With the introduction of the pivoting unloading spout on Axial Flow® combines all the difficul-ties met so far by the operator while working with small trailers and fixed spouts are now history. The possibility of pivoting the spout into various positions reduces the number of opera-tions which until now were necessary to keep the combine moving alongside a small trailer during the unloading sequence. Thanks to Case IH’s improvement of the unloading process the task is now done more quickly and with less fatigue for the operator.
Efficient solution for strong winds
This new unload technology allows the operator to correct the spout inclination on-the-go, sig-nificantly minimizing the impact of wind and avoiding grain loss. This system is highly practical in windy conditions and with material such as rapeseed, which is particularly susceptible to high losses due to the small size of its grain.
Technology in FIMA 2014 The "Technical Innovations" competition at FIMA is in three categories: the first for tractors, propelled machines and energy; the second for powered machines (soil preparation, sowing and planting equipment, fertilization, crop protection, harvesting and post-harvest equipment) and fixed-location systems (drying, irrigation, etc.), and the third for agronomic management solutions.
The awards ceremony will take place during the next FIMA event 11 to 15 February 2014 at the Feria de Zaragoza. This will be a special event because it is celebrating its 50th year and more than 100 machines will be on display.
