FPT Industrial Cursor 9 engine powers the new CLAAS AXION 900, which won in the category “High Horsepower tractors” of the “Machine of the Year 2018 Award”. This was one of the key events on the 2017 Agritechnica agenda. The “Machine of the Year” is elected by journalists from some of the most important German and International agricultural publications. The journalists select their favorite machines from 14 categories ranging from combines to harvesters and drills. The new AXION 900 models have been recently revamped and thanks to FPT Industrial Cursor 9 engines are more powerful. The jury, in fact, when rewarding CLAAS, mentioned FPT Industrial engines, that are more powerful and able to develop up to 445 hp. CLAAS’ AXION 900 is equipped with 8.7 liter FPT Industrial Cursor 9 engine, which comes with a 6- cylinder in-line architecture featuring the most advanced Common Rail injection system (up to 1,800 bar) to ensure optimal combustion efficiency; it uses electronic control VGT (Variable Geometry Turbo), a solution capable of adapting to variable loads in heavy-duty tractor missions, ensuring a promptly response to the engine.
The Cursor 9 structural installation specially tailor-made for the AXION 900 tractor, allowing it a max power of 445 hp, and a max torque of 1,850. The Cursor 9 confirms features and benefits of its family: top performances, proven reliability and high oil changes intervals (600 hours).
To ensure compliance with Tier 4 final / Stage IV emissions levels, the engine adopts FPT Industrial’s patented High Efficiency SCR (HI-eSCR) system, which reduces emissions of Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) by more than 95% through the use of SCR only, with no need for an Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) or a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). FPT Industrial longstanding EGR free technology and the exclusive patented HI-eSCR after-treatment represent the right choice for fuel efficiency, low operating costs and maximum reliability.
