Zyle Daewoo Bus Corporation and FPT Industrial announce agreement for EURO VI Engines Supply
Zyle Daewoo Bus Corporation, a leading South Korean bus manufacturer, and FPT Industrial, a market leading powertrain supplier, signed an agreement regarding the supply of Euro VI Cursor 11 engines for Daewoo Bus’ coach applications. Relying on FPT Industrial’s strong technological leadership, Daewoo Bus has chosen the most advanced Euro VI solution on the market. The state-of–the-art Cursor 11 engine, specifically customised for the South Korean company, will be compliant with the most stringent emission regulations thanks to FPT Industrial’s advanced after treatment technology.
The 11.1-litre, six-cylinder in-line, EGR-free engine, with a power of 309 kW (420 hp) @ 1,900 rpm and a torque of 1,900 Nm @ 1,050 rpm, is built to run at peak performance without compromising its emission levels. Clean air in the cylinder, not mixed with re-circulated exhaust gasses, and the latest generation Common Rail system with peak nozzle pressures of up to 2,200 bar, allow for a very high combustion efficiency, guaranteeing excellent fuel consumption.
To ensure the compliance to Euro VI emission levels, the engine is equipped with FPT Industrial’s High-Efficiency Selective Catalytic Reduction (HI-eSCR) system. This unique and patented after treatment solution treats the particulate matter by means of a passive regenerated Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) only, without the need of any active regeneration, and Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) by means of the SCR system alone, without the need for exhaust gas recirculation.
The combination of the Cursor 11 and the HI-eSCR system brings long maintenance intervals, ensuring Daewoo Bus’ coaches have low operating costs.
Since its establishment in 1955, Daewoo Bus has specialised in the field of manufacturing large buses and has grown into a global bus manufacturer in its capacity of around 20,000 units per annum. The company has two manufacturing plants in South Korea and seven overseas manufacturing plants and 15 KD (knock-down) worldwide partners. Its buses are primarily used for public transportation.
