CNH Industrial hosts United States Congressman Adrian Smith at its Grand Island Plant

United States Congressman Adrian Smith visits CNH Industrial's Case IH Grand Island Plant

CNH Industrial (NYSE: CNHI /MI: CNHI) hosted United States Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) at its Grand Island, Nebraska, USA facility on Tuesday, September 11. Smith’s visit included a tour of the Case IH harvesting plant and a combine ride and drive.
 
“I was glad to again visit Case IH’s Grand Island facility and see firsthand the production of world class agricultural equipment,” said Congressman Smith. “Besides our rank as the nation’s top producing agriculture district, our manufacturing workforce plays a vital role in providing leading agricultural technology to America and the world.”
 
Agricultural equipment manufactured at the Grand Island facility is marketed and sold to customers in the United States as well as 57 other countries around the world. The Grand Island plant produces Case IH Axial-Flow combine harvesters, New Holland combine harvesters, as well as hay and forage equipment.
 
Congressman Smith, a native of Gering, Nebraska, also spent some time with CNH Industrial plant employees to discuss the U.S. Agricultural and Manufacturing industries.
 
Bill Baasch, CNH Industrial Vice President of Manufacturing, led the tour and roundtable discussion along with plant manager Mike Schaefer.

“It was a pleasure to host Congressman Smith. The visit gave our employees the opportunity to hear directly from the Congressman, while also providing him with an insight into the plant’s daily operations,” Schaefer said.
 
“We are located in the agricultural heartland of America, and as machinery manufacturers, we are closely connected to and impacted by the wider agricultural sector,” Baasch said. “It is vitally important that U.S. government officials have the opportunity to see the valuable work of our employees.”

CNH Industrial has 12 manufacturing plants, 10 research and development centers, and a workforce of 9,000 in North America. The Company designs, produces and sells ‘machines for work’ and is present in all major markets worldwide giving it a unique competitive position.
