Congressman Loebsack visits Case Construction Equipment plant in Burlington, Iowa
CNH Industrial (NYSE: CNHI /MI: CNHI) hosted Congressman Dave Loebsack (D-IA) at its CASE Construction Equipment plant in Burlington, Iowa on Wednesday, September 20. Currently serving his sixth term as Iowa’s second district Congressman, this was Loebsack’s second visit to the Burlington facility.

Congressman Loebsack’s visit began with an Executive Roundtable with Burlington’s plant manager Eric Tharp and leaders from the CASE manufacturing and product teams. Loebsack was presented with an overview of the plant and its operations during the roundtable discussion, which was followed by a plant tour.

“It was a pleasure to host Congressman Loebsack and show him the work we do at this CASE facility in his district,” said Eric Tharp, Burlington plant manager.

CASE brand has had operations in Burlington since 1937, celebrating 80 years in Burlington this year. The year 2017 also marked the 175th anniversary of Case IH and Case Construction Equipment. With workforce of nearly 600 employees the Burlington facility manufacturers backhoes, tractor loaders, forklifts, dozers and components for the Case IH and New Holland Agriculture brands. The plant was expanded in 2015 after a $24 million dollar investment to facilitate production of a new dozer line, welding and computer numerical (CNC) machining equipment, and an assembly line.

“Manufacturing jobs are an important part of Iowa’s economy and are key to ensuring our state’s future growth. Seeing firsthand the final product and the hard work and commitment by CNH Industrial employees to build these backhoes was impressive,” said Congressman Loebsack. “I commend CNH Industrial for their commitment to providing high quality jobs in Southeastern Iowa.”
