New Holland Updates CTL Track Carrier Design


New Holland has launched a new, low-profile undercarriage design on its 200 series Compact Track Loaders. The update features track frame upgrades to models C227, C232 and C238 that have shown to hold up better under strain testing for improved carrier life.

“We make it our main priority to continuously test and improve our equipment in ways that will benefit our customers,” says Doran Herritt, Construction Equipment Marketing Segment Lead with New Holland North America. “Our Compact Track Loaders already reduce soil disturbance and improve traction, and these adjustments will ultimately improve the lifespan of the CTL as a whole.”  

The CTL’s improved yoke-to-frame engagement will produce less noise with the potential for reduced operator fatigue. It will also result in overall improved track alignment and easier cleanout, thanks to the increased open area between the tracks. 

The new track design minimizes exposure to material and moisture with a tightly fit-and-finished track frame, featuring fewer moving parts than competitive designs. Angled track frame covers decrease mud and material build-up with proven dozer-style angled track frame and material scrapers, and duo-cone face seals use proven dozer oil-lubrication technology that offers greater reliability and lower maintenance costs. The seals reduce the likelihood of leaks and damage by moisture and materials working in to the seals. 

Steel-embedded tracks rolling on rubber will provide longer-lasting track life and a smoother ride, while triple flange rollers help prevent de-tracking on inclines by using dozer-style rollers with larger inner-diameter flange, positioned between track lugs. An oversized bearing used in line with the drive sprocket and elevated drive assembly on the heavy-duty drive motor increases component life. 

The updated design will retain the same proven Berco idlers, rollers, sprockets and tensioner and current specifications will not change with these updates.
