New paint job for Case IH Puma
They’re the robust workhorses of the local sugarcane industry and this harvest season the Case IH Puma has been given an eye-catching makeover to match its abilities around the cane field.

For the past few seasons, Case IH has released a limited run of Pumas known as ‘Sugar Specials’ in the lead up to harvest. It’s a tractor specially fitted to handle the demands of the annual crush.

This year the tractors have a special paint finish ‘Viper Stryker Red’, as seen on the Autonomous Concept Vehicle (ACV). This metallic tint to the iconic Case IH ‘red’ is proving popular with customers.
  • The ‘Sugar Special’ Puma also features:
  • Powershift.
  • 50km/h gearbox (up from 40km/h)
  • Front axle suspension
  • Air and hydraulic brakes
  • Higher flow hydraulics of 150L/min
  • Electric mirrors
The CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) model can also be fitted with the special sugar specs.
These limited edition Pumas are designed to handle the expectations of sugar producers during the busiest time of the year, with a competitive price point that also appeals.

“These Pumas work around the clock during the harvest season. Running alongside the harvesters – which don’t stop – they collect the cane into bins on the back of the tractor, deliver to waiting trains, before racing back for the next load,” said Seamus McCarthy, Product Manager for Mid-Horsepower and Compact Tractors for Case IH Australia/New Zealand.

“They spend the majority of their time from June through to December on haul-out, and in some places may be running 24 hours a day. So, it’s easy to see why this special fit-out is key to optimising their speed, manoeuvrability and resilience in the field.”
