Chief Technology Officer

Friedrich ‘Fritz’ Eichler is Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at CNH Industrial. He leads the Company’s global R&D community with direct responsibility for areas which include Technology, Innovation, Digital, Precision Technology and Design. He is tasked with strengthening our tech stack, alternative propulsion offering, providing governance for product development, and supporting our Digital organization to seamlessly integrate precision, digital and autonomy solutions across the equipment portfolios. All of these efforts ensure the Company’s vast product portfolio meets the highest standards for our customers.

Mr. Eichler has over 30 years of experience in the automotive sector with proven expertise in engine and powertrain development at two of the world’s largest manufacturers. He joined CNH in 2023 as CTO, becoming a member of the Company’s Global Leadership Team.

Prior to joining CNH, Friedrich Eichler was Executive Vice President of Volkswagen Group (VW) Mexico as well as Head of Technical Development. From 2017 – 2021 he was Head of Chassis & Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Development for the Volkswagen brand. Before that appointment, he held senior management roles in the global Volkswagen Group (VW) relating to engine development as well as serving as Head of the Diesel Task Force from 2013 – 2017. From 2007 – 2012 he was Head of Engine Development and Electric at Mercedes AMG. Prior to joining Mercedes AMG, he was Head of Engine Development at VW’s Porsche AG, where he began as Head of Basic Engine in the year 2000. From 1993 to 1999 he held roles of increasing responsibility in engine development for VW’s Audi brand. He began his career with VW in 1990 in engine development with the Volkswagen brand.

Friedrich Eichler holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technische Universität Braunschweig, in Germany. He previously served on the Board of Directors for Volkswagen Group Mexico.
