Introducing the C Series, CASE's expanded line of mini excavators that now includes six models from 1.7 to 6.0 metric tons. These compact excavators are ideal for use in tight spaces and applications such as general and residential construction, landscaping and utility work.

C Series mini excavators provide parallel, unobstructed operation near obstacles, tree lines and foundations thanks to their zero, short-tail or conventional swing design and independent center swing boom that can be offset left or right within an operating range.

Offered in zero tail swing, short-radius or conventional configurations, C Series mini excavators feature an adjustable boom with the ability to offset left or right to work closer to buildings and obstacles. The CX17C features a variable-width undercarriage and adjustable blade capable of passing through most common gates and for working on confined jobsites, close to buildings and in developed areas.

This means no need for filter regeneration, no fuel used to burn particulate matter and no need to replace an expensive DPF. Emissions are minimised by cutting fuel consumption with an efficient common rail engine and an advanced variable control Cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation system. Then, a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) reduces the pollutants in the exhaust gas through a chemical reaction. The DOC does not need to be replaced; it lasts the whole machine’s lifecycle. This system is highly efficient and very simple.


C-Series mid-size excavators feature a highly reliable 4-cylinder 56 hp Isuzu Motor engine. The turbo-charged system together with the intercooler ensure a prompt and powerful response to loads and contributes to generating more power out of every drop of fuel.

The standard Auto-Idle system saves fuel and cuts emissions by automatically reducing engine speed (up to 1200 rpm) after 5 seconds of machine inactivity. If this continues for a certain period, the idle shut down function detects the continuous low idle condition and automatically stops the engine, further reducing emissions and fuel consumption.

Both auto-idle and idle shut down functions can easily be disactivated from the instrument cluster. The multi-stage injection of the electronic common rail engine ensures optimised combustion resulting in great fuel economy, less particulate emissions and lower noise.


The Offset boom: increases the working area without repositioning the machine. Comfortable side digging due to excellent view of the bucket or attachment at work. The minimum working distance allows for operations in very tight spaces.

The Mono boom: can work in only 2920 mm (1630 mm front swing + 1290 mm tail swing). The same mono boom design of larger excavators provides outstanding robustness and reliability.

The Swing boom: excellent manoeuvrability and maximum reach. The generous swing angles (left 80°; right 45°) combined with excellent visibility in every direction contribute to increased productivity.

The upper-structure, redesigned to match the hydraulic performance, ensures CASE legendary durability and reliability even in the toughest conditions. Boom and dipper feature forged brackets and reduced tolerances for increased component life minimizing downtime. Resin side shims on boom and dipper contribute to lower wear and service intervals. The synthetic hydraulic filter reduces system contamination, cutting service costs and boosting machine longevity.


The certified fuel efficient powerful engine meets Tier III emissions regulations granting reduced fuel consumption. A large fuel tank, combined with low consumption, results in not more than a 2-day work period between refills. The Extended Maintenance System grants longer greasing intervals on all pins compared to competition. All filters and regular fill points are grouped for easy access. Radiator and cooler cores are mounted side by side for more efficient cooling and easy access for cleaning. Optional high flow refuelling pump with automatic cut off reduces downtime for regular fills.


The familiar working mode systems offers 3 power modes to match different customer needs.
  • A MODE: for grading, lifting and precision work. 
  • H MODE: the best balance between productivity and fuel economy. 
  • SP MODE: extra speed and power for the most demanding jobs that require maximum productivity.
Auto Power boost: automatically increases hydraulic pressure according to the operation’s demands. The advanced hydraulic system delivers high breakout force, high swing speeds and great swing torque, resulting in faster cycle times. The electronic management of speed and power lowers fuel consumption and offers considerable productivity benefits in terms of outputs.


The widen cab structure offers more leg and foot space, while the extensive glass surface contributes to give an impression of aperture to the operator. Ergonomic layout, intuitive controls and a seat that lays flat ensures optimum comfort for all operators. Additionally, the viscous fluid cab mountings and top-quality insulation lead to a stress and fatigue reduction for the operator, boosting productivity and performance. Four positions consoles with return to pre-set modes will suit operators of all sizes and needs.


All round visibility in the cab is provided by a wide glazed area with single-piece window on the right-hand side for unobstructed view. The frame structure has three times the structural rigidity of previous models, reducing noise and vibration for the operator. An adjustable control console with ergonomic design makes it easier to choose the correct operating mode, increasing comfort and safety.
