New Holland Boomer 3040 tractor

NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde has become the latest satisfied New Holland customer when it took delivery of a compact Boomer 3040 tractor equipped with EasyDrive™ transmission.

The reliable and adaptable machine will be used at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley after its purchase from Lanark-based Bryson Tractors Ltd, which covers central Scotland.

The Boomer 3040 replaces a 30-year-old Massey Ferguson and is being deployed for general grounds maintenance such as grass cutting and sweeping.

Hospital Estates Officer Colin Purdon said: “We chose the Boomer 3040 as an equivalent sized replacement for our old tractor. We did some research and the recommendation was for New Holland due to its reliability.

“It’s been an excellent purchase and there have been no problems. It’s very simple and very easy to use. It has the EasyDrive™ transmission which makes the groundsman’s daily tasks more of a pleasure and less of a chore.

“It’s also a great looking machine which takes pride of place in our grounds equipment inventory.”

The EasyDrive™ transmission features a single pedal to control both travel speed and engine speed, automatically adjusting to deliver the desired pace and to match load conditions.

The Boomer 3040 is equipped with exceptional power, manoeuvrability and ease of operation. The four-cylinder diesel engine, meanwhile, leads the segment in durability, and offers better fuel economy, less noise and longer life.

Operators also enjoy best-in-class visibility thanks to the practical yet eye-catching design, backed up by simple controls and plenty of space to reduce fatigue.

Bryson Tractors Ltd Sales Manager, John Condron said: “We’re very happy to have met the Royal Alexandra Hospital’s grounds care needs with the Boomer 3040. From hospitals to sports grounds, it shows how adaptable this popular machine is.”
