STEYR Terrus CVT is ‘Machine of the Year 2016’

Whilst production of the Steyr Terrus CVT only started in St. Valentin/Austria in September, and the new range having its first premiere at Agritechnica in Hanover this week, the new Steyr flagship has already received its first prize, the renowned ‘Machine of the Year 2016’ award. “This distinction was earned by the dedication and expertise of the whole team in St. Valentin. The new Terrus CVT range was developed and is built according to the demands of customers in Europe. That is why we are particularly proud that our new flagship also convinced the ‘Machine of the Year’ jury. This award is even more enjoyable following the excellent results in the DLG PowerMix test – we now achieved the second top result already”, highlights Andreas Klauser, Steyr President.

Innovation for impressive performance

The new Terrus CVT range consists of two models with 270 and 300 hp rated power, respectively, and is distinguished by its compact design, outstanding agility and versatility. Being the most powerful Steyr tractor ever, the Terrus CVT now tops off the model range of the equally iconic, modern and customer-oriented Steyr brand. Key technical features include for example the standard four-speed rear PTO, the unique ‘in-cab shiftable’ two-speed front PTO as an option, and a new four-range CVT with double clutch technology which ensures impressive traction with the 2.15m diameter rear tires.

The new Terrus CVT is inspiring – with many technological innovations and enormous versatility for challenging daily work. Featuring the Hi-eSCR only after-treatment solution for maximum combustion efficiency, the engines equally fulfil Stage IV emission regulations and convince with frugal fuel consumption. “The efficiency of the Terrus CVT has just been verified with a PowerMix test result of 249 g/kWh by the independent testing association DLG. The PowerMix test has been created to replicate typical customer usage in a repeatable and comparable way”, emphasises Product Marketing Manager Dan Stuart. And he adds: “In addition to all these technological aspects, we are really happy that the newly developed design is enthusiastically received. Feedback from customers, dealers and right now also from visitors at Agritechnica confirms that we have clearly ‘hit the mark’”.
