The Powerful Return of the Heuliez Bus Brand
With the presentation of its latest luxury model, the GX LINIUM, Heuliez Bus has reinforced its identity and its position as a premium player in the field of public transport. The "HB" logo has disappeared from the front grille of its buses to make way once again for the 7 chrome letters H E U L I E Z.

85 years after the birth of its first coach on a UNIC chassis, the legendary H E U L I E Z brand, which combines historical know-how and the avant-garde spirit of an innovative company, has returned to the forefront.

Historical Know-how

Set up by Adolphe Heuliez in a cartwright’s workshop and developed by his son Louis, Heuliez began with the production of horse drawn carts, hence the logo which has long been associated with the legendary brand H E U L I E Z. In 1932 the company’s first wooden framed coach was produced followed by, in 1949, a touring coach first shown at the Paris Motor show. In 1970, Heuliez split into two separate entities with the creation of a company dedicated solely to the manufacturing of buses.

A unique site for French production

One of the major assets of the company is its unique production site in Rorthais, in Western France with a test track that combines the design, research and development, production and marketing of urban vehicles as well as all associated services such as after-sales, training and supply of original spare parts.

Driven by its values of Creativity, Commitment and Excellence, over the years, the Company has demonstrated its ability to listen and respond to all types of expectations from operators and in this way its vehicles, labeled “Guaranteed French Origin (Origine France Garantie)” have become the perfect partners to towns all over France.

An innovative company

Since the 1970s a continuous search for innovation has made it possible to focus development and production on urban vehicles which favour design, comfort and reduce air and noise pollution, all values which are appreciated by customers, city dwellers and operators alike. A tradition of innovation that has seen the development of the first dual articulated bus, the first low floor bus, and also the deployment of alternative solutions with dual mode electric minibuses, and versions with CNG and LPG engines together with the manufacture of trolleybuses.

With a long-standing commitment to protecting the environment, Heuliez Bus has been manufacturing its hybrid diesel-electric series since 2010 and is today market leader in France in this segment.

In preparation for the introduction of the Energy Transition Act, which will be aimed at renewing the French bus fleet with low-emission vehicles, in 2015 Heuliez Bus also launched the development of a 100% electric bus called GX ELEC.

Cradle of the famous GX range, and always at the forefront of the needs of customers, the site of Rorthais and its brand H E U L I E Z continue to build upon the success story in the field of public transport.
