CNH Industrial is a Main Sponsor of the South Africa - Italy Summit in Cape Town

In an ongoing effort to foster strong business relations in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region, the global capital goods company is proud to support this important event for the Italian and Southern African markets. Summit guest speaker Mario Gasparri, CNH Industrial Senior Vice President, Southern Africa, will discuss the recent local investment in a state-of-the-art facility for the assembly of commercial vehicles.

Highlighting its strengths and ties in both Italy and Southern Africa, CNH Industrial will serve as the Main Manufacturing Sponsor of the annual South Africa – Italy Summit. Hosted at the Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa, the event gathers influential political and business leaders from Italy and South Africa with the objective of strengthening strategic relationships between the two countries that will promote new development opportunities.

This occasion underlines the importance of these markets for CNH Industrial in terms of worldwide outreach, commercial and manufacturing prospects and the strengthening of existing networks. Both Italy and South Africa play an important role in the history of the Company. Italy represents a point of origin for several of CNH Industrial‘s 12 brands and a strong manufacturing presence, while South Africa has seen the establishment of an expanding commercial network over the past 20 years.

With respect to Southern Africa, the Summit sets the stage for the Company to announce an important milestone in its African tenure: the upcoming inauguration of its first assembly facility in South Africa, located in Rosslyn, Gauteng province. An investment representing over USD $70m, the site will assemble, medium, heavy duty and extra heavy duty trucks as well as front engine and low floor city buses. It is equipped to produce up to 6,000 trucks and 1,000 buses per year for local and export markets. Close to 1,000 South African employees are expected to be recruited for this new location.

Speaking on behalf of CNH Industrial at the Summit is Mario Gasparri, CNH Industrial Senior Vice President, Southern Africa. Mr Gasparri will discuss the Company’s presence and initiatives in the region as well as share details regarding the new facility and its significance for the future of commercial vehicles in Africa.
