A new step forward in the partnership between FPT Industrial and Mercury Marine was introduced at the Miami International Boat Show 2017. At the exhibition the new 6.7 liter electronic fuel injection common-rail NEF engine branded Mercury Diesel was presented and will be offered with three power levels: 480hp, 500hp and 550hp.
Boasting an overall production of more than 1.6 million engines since 2001 from the NEF series, the new 6.7 liter FPT Industrial marine engine customized for Mercury Marine, leads pleasure boating technology and performance. Many seasons of proven presence in the market, victories and speed records in "endurance" challenges, have been the best “proving grounds” for the development of this engine.
“This second step in the strategic partnership with Mercury Marine, initiated in 2015, emphasizes the FPT Industrial technological leadership by providing enlarged offer to customers with best in class product and service, bolstering FPT Industrial competitiveness in the Marine engines business,” said Massimo Rubatto, Vice President Sales at FPT Industrial.
“Mercury has established itself as providing the best integrated propulsion solutions to our customers,” said David Foulkes, Brunswick Corporation’s Vice President & Chief Technology Officer and Mercury Marine vice president – Product Development, Engineering and Racing. “This is the first opportunity to provide our fully integrated ecosystem of technology and ease of boating features to our mid-range diesel customer.”
