FPT Industrial powers King Long 12 Metre Coach to be presented at IAA Hannover
FPT Industrial has signed a long-term agreement with new customer Xiamen King Long United Automotive Industry Co., Ltd (King Long) to supply its Euro VI compliant Cursor 9 engines for King Long’s new 12 metre coach.
The 8.9-litre, six-cylinder Cursor 9 engine, with power between 228 kW (310 hp) and 294 kW (400 hp), features the latest generation Common Rail system, delivering higher flexibility in fuel and timing injection and thus allowing an excellent fuel consumption.
To comply with the latest European emissions legislation, the engine adopts the state-of-the-art and patented FPT Industrial’s High Efficiency SCR system (HI-eSCR), reducing NOx levels by more than 95% through selective catalytic reduction, without the need of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), while particulate matter is abated by means of a passive regenerated diesel particulate filter. The combination of the Cursor 9 and the HI-eSCR system brings excellent fuel consumption and market-leading maintenance intervals, thus ensuring King Long’s coaches a low Total Cost of Ownership.
FPT Industrial, among the top three powertrain manufacturers on a world-wide basis, with a turnover amounting to 3,331 million Euros and a production of 545,000 engines, 62,000 transmissions and 157,000 axles (figures referring to 2013), is part of the CNH Industrial Group. King Long is one of the leading Chinese bus manufacturers in the largest public transport market in the world, with a total production of more than 29,000 units in 2013 and presence in Europe since 2003.
