The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers ranked agricultural technology products from both Case IH and New Holland Agriculture in the top 50 for their innovations, significant engineering advancements and impacts on the markets served.

Nine agricultural technology products from CNH Industrial Group brands Case IH and New Holland Agriculture have made it onto the AE50 list for top innovations in 2013. The only awards program of its kind to celebrate product innovations in the areas of agricultural, food, and biological systems, AE50 is sponsored by The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers. Winners are decided by an expert panel of engineers which selects up to 50 products for recognition. The criteria by which products are judged are based on: innovation, significant engineering advancement, and impact on the market served.

The Case IH brand received recognition for the 4412 folding corn head; the Axial-Flow® 230 series combines; and the Steiger Rowtrac™ tractor. The Case IH 4412F corn head, whose function is to strip the stalk and leaf of the corn away before the corn enters the combine, is designed for easier road transport between fields, cleaner picking, faster harvesting, easier service and grain savings. The entire 4400 lineup of Case IH headers is the result of a combined $60 million Case IH investment in header research and development, and the expansion of the Combine Header Center of Excellence in Burlington, Iowa.

The Case IH Axial-Flow 230 series combines set the industry benchmark for grain quality and savings, regardless of the crop or field size, with improvements, which when combined, result in up to an eight percent increase in machine capacity. The Case IH Steiger Rowtrac tractor puts more power to the ground to pull larger implements in row crops such as planters, field cultivators and fertilizer or specialty applicators, providing adaptability and versatility for different cropping systems.

New Holland Agriculture received recognition for the: Roll-Belt™ 560 round baler; Discbine® center-pivot disc mower-conditioners; Speedrower® self-propelled windrowers; Opti-Speed™ variable strawwalker speed technology for CX Series combines; SmartTrax™ system with Terraglide™ suspension for CR Series combines; ECOBlue™ HI-eSCR exhaust gas aftertreatment system.

The Roll-BeltTM 560 round baler, which compresses cut and raked crop into compact bales that are easy to transport and store, allows operators the ability to increase their productivity with a highercapacity pickup and other features for overall improved ease of use. This 5’x6’ Roll-Belt™ baler features the industry’s widest pickups and highest bale densities for higher baling capacity and better feeding ability in a wide range of crops and baling conditions. The Discbine® center-pivot disc mower-conditioners introduce a high ratio of cut width to conditioning width with a kit specifically for biomass harvesting which allows the unit to easily harvest biomass crops. The Speedrower® selfpropelled windrower features high-speed transport option, improved hydro-mechanical steering, and integrated IntelliSteer™ auto-guidance making it more productive in getting an operator from field to field more quickly and allowing faster field speeds with a full header on every pass.

The Opti-Speed™ variable strawwalker speed technology for New Holland CX Series combines was recognised in the AE50 for its ability to automatically match the strawwalker speed to the crop type and harvesting conditions on flat or hilly ground. The SmartTrax™ system with Terraglide™ suspension for New Holland CR Series combines is a track system that follows the contour of fields or roads using rollers that adjust side to side as well as up and down for maximum traction, less soil compaction, and greater driver comfort.

The industry-exclusive ECOBlue™ HI-eSCR exhaust gas after-treatment system, developed by FPT Industrial, ensures that the high-horsepower New Holland T7, T8, and T9 Series tractors are Tier 4B-compliant* while maintaining their outstanding efficiency and productivity. The ECOBlue™ HI-eSCR system is an evolution of the existing ECOBlue™ SCR system and is protected by eight patents. This system has the highest NOx conversion efficiency in the industry—above 95%—while maintaining or improving the productivity of the machine.

*Introduction timing of T4B compliant machines may differ for different countries around the world.
