CASE CE Platinum award trophy - 2021

CASE Construction Equipment was awarded with “National Champions (Platinum) – 2021 in MURI Category” and “Gold for LCA under KARAKURI Kaizen Category”.

New Delhi, 26th November 2021: CASE Construction Equipment’s plant in Pithampur, part of CNH Industrial (CNHI), has received the “National Champions (Platinum) – 2021 in MURI Category” award at the 11th edition of the CII National Level 3M Competition for the implementation of lean manufacturing through the reduction of waste in the assembly line. The Pithampur team’s solution was singled out for this recognition out of the 65 shortlisted projects. It consists of the adoption of Low Cost Automation (LCA) at the Cabin Construction Station as part of Project MURI Reduction to address an ergonomics issue arising from the manual lifting of a 55-kg operator seat during its assembly within the cabin. Members of the Pithampur team Sadanand Yadav and Lallan Prasad were proud to receive the award.

Fellow Pithampur team members Arvind Tiwari and Chandrashekhar Chaurdary were the proud recipients of the “Gold Award for LCA under KARAKURI Kaizen Category” at the 6th CII National Competition on LCA.  Their project, NVAA & Fatigue (MURI) reduction at TLB Assembly line by LCA, has contributed to the removal of Ergonomics & Safety concerns resulting from the manual handling of a 15-kg propeller shaft during assembly with the rear axle.

Elated by the victories, Sandeep Mathur said, “Heartiest congratulations to the Pithampur Team on receiving this prestigious honor. We are delighted that our efforts have been recognized at the National Level for the second time this year through the awards received by the CNHI Pithampur Team. We always motivate our employees to think innovatively and develop equipment that enhances safety, productivity, and quality in order to achieve world-class manufacturing standards.”

The CII Institute of Quality & TPM Club of India hosted the awards through a virtual platform on 28th & 29th October 2021. The prestigious awards are conducted annually to encourage the adoption of lean manufacturing across the sector through the use of low cost automation techniques that will enhance the competitiveness of Indian Industry in the global market, in support of the Government’s “Make in India” campaign.
